A membership site is an environment where members log in to access content, tools, or a community, usually for a fee. From a private knowledge base to a subscription with recurring billing. We build them in Webflow using Memberstack or Wized and Xano, integrated with Stripe or Mollie, so your administration is handled automatically without you having to do anything per member.
When you need this
You sell knowledge, training, or coaching and want to offer it online. You have an association or network with members who need to see specific content. You want recurring revenue instead of one-off sales. Or you have a course platform on a tool that doesn't fit your brand and over which you have no control.
What it involves
Registration and login. Subscriptions with different tiers and prices. Recurring payments, trial periods, cancellations, and handling failed payments. Content per tier: who sees what. A member profile with personal details and progress tracking. Automated emails for welcome, renewal, and cancellation. Plus, integration with your accounting software and email platform.
What we use
For most membership sites Webflow with Memberstack: quick to set up, payments via Stripe, and content gated by plan. As soon as you need more complex logic, progress tracking, groups, or custom data per member, we build on Wized and Xano, with Stripe or Mollie for iDEAL and direct debit.
Costs and timelines
A first version using Memberstack can be live in three to five weeks, including design and content. A platform built on Wized and Xano takes longer due to the increased complexity. Development is offered at a fixed price. In addition, you will pay Memberstack—for a starting community, this is usually a few dozen euros per month plus a small percentage on payments—as well as transaction fees from Stripe or Mollie.
Who this is not for
If you only want a newsletter or to gate free content behind an email signup, an email marketing platform is sufficient. And if your focus is primarily on member discussions, an off-the-shelf community platform is a better fit.
