Bistrobar Bankoh on the Handelskade in Nijmegen, with Ron Blaauw as a consultant, wanted a website as bold as the restaurant itself. We rebuilt the site from the ground up in Webflow, featuring new photography, scroll effects, and navigation that highlights the full range of offerings, from the cocktail menu to business meetings. Thanks to structured data and FAQ sections, Google and AI search engines can instantly read the menu, prices, and opening hours. The marketer manages all content independently.

Bistrobar Bankoh has been located on the Handelskade in Nijmegen since 2018, overlooking the Waal river. The restaurant offers its own unique take on Asian cuisine, featuring a bold menu, cocktails, and a bar that is a destination in its own right. Culinary entrepreneur Ron Blaauw is involved with the Bistrobars as a resident advisor. Bankoh wanted a website that is just as bold as the restaurant itself.
We rebuilt the site from the ground up in Webflow, featuring navigation that showcases the entire offering, a new selection of photography, and scroll effects that enhance the atmosphere. Under the hood lies a technical foundation with JSON-LD structured data, FAQ sections, and AEO optimization for every page.
The result is a site where you can taste the evening before you’ve even made a reservation. Under the hood, Google and AI search engines can directly read the menu, prices, opening hours, and frequently asked questions, while the marketer manages all content independently.
More and more guests are searching for restaurants via AI assistants, using queries like 'Asian restaurant Nijmegen'. Bankoh wanted search engines and AI models to be able to read their menu, prices, and opening hours directly. Those who are easily readable there get mentioned in the answer and win the reservation.
Bankoh is more than just a night out for dinner: there is a cocktail bar, a wine list, and options for groups, business guests, and parties. Every element deserved its own place in the navigation. This way, someone looking for drinks for a group lands directly on the right page instead of on the menu.
A menu is never finished: dishes, prices, and promotions change regularly. Bankoh's marketer was already managing the site, and the new setup had to make that even easier. The fewer steps a change takes, the more up-to-date the site remains, for example when a new menu is launched.
Bankoh has a distinct style, from the interior to the cocktails. The website needed to convey that feeling before someone even books a table. For a restaurant, the site is often the first impression, and that determines whether someone makes a reservation.

We rebuilt all pages in Webflow. The navigation now includes separate pages for Menu, Cocktail List, Wine List, Journal, Celebrate, Business, Groups, Gift Card, and Contact, with the reservation button always within reach. Old URLs redirect to the new structure, ensuring that existing links and search engine rankings are preserved.
A new selection of photography showcases the menu, cocktails, and wines exactly as they appear at the table. Scroll effects and animations give the pages rhythm and let the visuals do the talking. The site has been tested on all screen sizes, ensuring the experience works just as well on mobile as it does on desktop.
We added JSON-LD structured data to every page so that Google and AI search engines can read the content in a structured way. Page-specific FAQ sections allow frequently asked questions to appear directly as answers in search engines and AI assistants. The menu, prices, and opening hours are formatted to be machine-readable. This allows an AI assistant to answer the question of where to eat Asian food in Nijmegen tonight with Bankoh's menu and opening hours.
The Webflow CMS has been redesigned for the marketer. Menu items, prices, and Journal articles can be updated without a developer, including rich formatting like the line breaks for the Nigiri and Oyster Journey. As a result, a new menu or price change is live instantly.

Working together, developing together, examining our ideas, and translating who we are and where we want to go. Taking it to the next level! That is what De Digitaal and the team behind Dorus & Mannes do with and for us. Creative, excellent quality, innovative, groundbreaking, forward-thinking. That is what De Digitaal is to me, and to us. And the Bistrobar Beaune website illustrates this in every way. With flying colors.

Every page includes JSON-LD structured data so that search engines and AI assistants can read the menu, prices, and opening hours in a structured format. Frequently asked questions are detailed in page-specific FAQ sections that can appear directly as answers. This prepares Bankoh for guests who no longer Google, but ask an AI assistant instead.
The marketer has access to the Webflow CMS and can independently update menu items, prices, and Journal articles. CMS fields are configured so that formatting, such as line breaks and rich text, can be managed without outside help. This ensures the online menu always matches the one on the table.

A new selection of photography showcases the menu, cocktails, and wines exactly as intended. Scroll effects and animations give the pages rhythm and draw the visitor into the story. The site doesn't just sell a table; it sells the entire evening.

Photography, scroll effects, and tone work together to tell the story of the kitchen, the bar, and the location on the Waal. Visitors get a feel for the evening before they book, and the reservation button is within reach on every page. The site feels like the restaurant, not a template.
Google and AI search engines can now process the menu, prices, opening hours, and FAQs directly. This increases the chance that Bankoh appears as an answer to specific search queries, without the visitor even needing to open the site.
The marketer updates menu items, prices, and Journal articles via Webflow, without needing a developer. This ensures the site is always in sync with what is happening in the restaurant.
Redirects ensure that existing links and search engine rankings have been carried over to the new structure. Guests with an old link are automatically directed to the correct page.
