PIM system

Product data that is accurate and up-to-date across every channel: website, webshop, dealers, datasheets, and marketplaces.

The specifications on the site don't match the brochure, the datasheet says something else entirely, and no one knows which one is correct.

Does this sound familiar?

Tell me what isn't working or what's taking up too much of your time, and I'll let you know what I would do and roughly what it would cost. You'll be speaking directly to me, not an account manager.

Product Information Management, or PIM for short, is the management of all your product data in one place: specifications, copy, images, documents, pricing, and variants. From that single source, data flows to your website, webshop, dealers, datasheets, and marketplaces. A PIM is a data management system that focuses specifically on products.

When you need this

Your product data is scattered across Excel files and the product manager's head. Specifications on the site don't match those in the brochure. Every new channel means re-entering everything in a different format. Translations are lagging because no one knows what has changed. Or you have hundreds of variants where the differences are buried in three fields that have to be updated manually everywhere.

What we build

A product structure with families, variants, and attributes that aligns with your inventory. Fields per language and per market, with visibility into what still needs to be translated. Images and documents linked to the product in the formats each channel requires. Validation: a product is only published once all mandatory fields are filled. Publication per channel, so the webshop receives different fields than the dealer portal. And datasheets that update automatically along with the data.

With what

Airtable or Xano as the source, a management dashboard in Next.js or Webflow with Wized, and site integrations, Shopify or ERP via API.

Our approach

We start with your current product data, no matter how messy, and the channels it needs to reach. From there, we define the structure: which families, which attributes, and what varies per product variant. Then, we build the source and one channel, usually the website. Once that works, the other channels follow one by one.

Standard package or custom solution

A standard PIM package is a good fit if your product range aligns with their model and you use most of their features. A custom PIM follows your specific product structure and delivers exactly what your channels need. We’ll tell you upfront which one is right for you, even if it’s the standard package.

Costs and timelines

That depends on the number of product families and attributes, the number of languages, and the number of channels. We work with a fixed price per phase. The first phase covers the product structure plus one channel. Cleaning up existing data often takes more time than the technical implementation, and that work is partly handled by your own team.

Who it’s not for

If you have a small product range and only one channel, the Webflow CMS is sufficient. If your product data rarely changes, a PIM won't pay for itself. A PIM becomes valuable as soon as the same data needs to be consistent across multiple locations.

Where we’ve done it

For Mitsubishi Turbochargers & Engines we manage hundreds of engine types and their technical specifications from a single source, synchronized to the product site and to spec sheets for dealers across Europe.

Questions about

PIM system

Zie documentgeneratie.
