Hero

Mitsubishi Turbocharger and Engine Europe (MTEE) wanted a website that reflects their ambition to grow into a premium position within the marine and industrial sectors. We built a new platform in Webflow featuring a product catalog where all engines and generator sets can be found by model, filtered by application, power output, and emission class. Additionally, each growth market was given a dedicated page, the sustainability story was integrated as a core feature, brochures and datasheets were made easily downloadable, and the dealer locator was given a prominent position.

in short

Mitsubishi Turbochargers & Engines Europe (MTEE) supplies engines and generator sets for marine and industrial applications across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Their existing website ran on HubSpot, did not align with the MHI Group's Mission Net Zero strategy, and failed to reflect their premium market position. Users searching for an engine were met with hundreds of nearly identical results on a single page. Those looking for a dealer couldn't find the locator and sent inquiries directly to Almere, even from regions outside the sales territory.

We managed the entire process: research and sitemap, interaction design, visual design, technical development, content migration, and go-live. The biggest change is under the hood: the product catalog has been restructured, markets have been given their own entry points, and the sustainability narrative has been integrated as a dedicated layer. The project has since evolved into a long-term partnership.

the challenge

The client's challenge.

A brand ready for the next step

MTEE aimed to grow into a premium position over the coming years. The website needed to tell that story, showcase the company's leadership, and guide visitors directly to a brochure, a contact point, or the right dealer.

Making a broad portfolio easy to navigate

Mitsubishi supplies every engine in many variants, based on rating, RPM, and emission class. The challenge was to present this wealth of options in a way that allows customers to quickly see which engine fits their specific application.

A dedicated space for every market

Offshore wind, inland shipping, data centers, and power generation are MTEE's growth markets. Each market deserved a page that speaks the customer's language, backed by the expertise of their own sales and product specialists.

Connecting sustainability with technology

Mission Net Zero, emission standards, after-treatment, and certifications form the evidence behind their sustainability ambition. These components needed to create a cohesive narrative, linked directly to the products themselves.

A careful transition

Existing content had to be migrated from HubSpot to the Webflow platform, while ensuring that forms and lead tracking continued to function without interruption.

Collaborating with specialists across Europe

Photography, video, and market expertise were provided by colleagues in various countries. We therefore adopted a workflow that allowed pages to go live in phases, keeping the project moving forward.

the approach

What we did.

Step by step from research to launch

We worked in seven phases: research and sitemap, interaction design, visual design, technical development, content migration, testing, and launch. Each phase concluded with a review, allowing MTEE to provide feedback at every stage.

A catalog that matches how customers search

Together with MTEE, we analyzed how a customer selects an engine: first by application, then by power, emission class, and speed. The Product Configurator was structured accordingly into models and variants. For each model, the site displays the range in power and speed, allowing visitors to immediately see which variants are relevant.

A dedicated page for every market

Market pages were created for data centers, offshore wind, inland shipping, short sea, and power generation. The content is based on interviews and questionnaires with MTEE specialists, supplemented by key figures for each market. The pages also serve as landing pages for trade shows and campaigns, such as the Offshore Energy exhibition in Amsterdam.

Quality and sustainability in one place

The sustainability story was given its own section, featuring a timeline of milestones and explanations regarding emission standards, after-treatment, and new technology. ISO and classification society certifications are bundled under Quality & Sustainability.

Downloads and dealers at your fingertips

Datasheets and brochures can be downloaded directly from a single download section, which uses the same source as the dealer portal. The dealer locator was given a prominent place in the navigation, ensuring visitors can quickly find their nearest dealer.

A single source for product specifications

Specifications are managed in Airtable and synced to the website from there. Product managers update their own data, while marketing reviews and publishes it. This ensures the website and datasheets are always in sync.

client quote

What I find to be a major advantage is how quickly Dorus immersed himself in our technical products and the various markets in which we operate. This allowed our requirements to be quickly translated into a high-quality website that truly fits us. Not only does this save a lot of time, but it also makes DeDigitaal a valuable sparring partner. Furthermore, it is refreshing to find that someone can still surprise you with new insights and ideas during such a process.
