Web design Nijmegen: how we design and build your website

Having your web design done in Nijmegen by DeDigitaal means we design your website based on research, first set out the structure in a wireframe and then work out the visual design. We build the site in Webflow, so you can then edit your copy, pages and blogs yourself without a developer. We are based in Nijmegen, so a session around the table is easy to arrange. If you prefer to work remotely, that works just as well.

Web design in Nijmegen: what we do for you

For us, web design is more than how a site looks. It starts with the question of what a visitor comes to do, what information they need and what you want them to do next. Only once that is clear does a design have direction.

A web design project with us consists of these parts:

  • Research and analysis. Who your visitors are, what they are looking for and where your current site falls short.
  • Wireframes. The structure of every important page, without colour or imagery.
  • Visual design. Your brand identity worked out into a complete set of components for desktop and mobile.
  • Build in Webflow. A fast site with a CMS you use yourself.
  • Integrations and measurement. Forms that feed into your CRM and analytics that show what the site delivers.

From research and wireframe to visual design

A lot of web design starts with colours and typefaces. We start one step earlier. In a first session we discuss goals, target audiences and what your current website does and does not deliver. We look at your visitor statistics, at how competitors explain their offering and at the questions customers ask you. That work is described under research and analysis.

Next comes the wireframe. That is a sketch of every important page with structure only: what goes at the top, where the proof goes, where the call to action sits. An example from practice: a service provider wants to show all its services side by side on the homepage. In the wireframe you quickly see that a visitor does not know where to start, and together we choose a layout organised by customer question. In a sketch that is a small change. In a finished site it is a rebuild.

Once the structure is in place, we create the visual design in Figma. We work out your brand identity into a set of building blocks: buttons, cards, forms, headings and sections. If your brand identity was mainly made for print, we translate it into what works on screen. You see every design on desktop and mobile before anything is built, and we process your feedback in fixed rounds.

Built in Webflow, easy to manage yourself

We build the design in Webflow. You notice that in two ways. The design goes online the way it was intended, because we build visually and do not have to bend an existing theme. And you manage the site yourself afterwards.

Blogs, vacancies, cases and team members go into the CMS. Posting a new vacancy then means filling in a form, and the layout takes care of itself. We build pages with fixed sections, so your marketer can put together a new page without the design falling apart. How that works in practice is explained in managing your website yourself without a developer.

We also take care of the technical foundation. Fast loading times, a logical structure for SEO, forms that go straight into your CRM and measurement in Google Analytics. If you currently have a WordPress site, we move it over while keeping your search visibility. See WordPress migration.

Websites we designed

What we design differs per project. A law firm calls for calm and trust, a hospitality business for atmosphere and a quick route to booking, a technical company for clear explanations of complex products. Our work includes projects for Christian Letselschade Advocatuur, Nook City Kitchen, NT Welding, Sociaal Verbond and Immerse Education.

We work for a wide range of sectors, such as professional services, healthcare, education, hospitality and manufacturing. Visitors' questions differ per sector, and that is where the design begins.

How a web design project with us works

  • Introduction. We discuss what you want to achieve and what is not working well now. After that you know what we propose and what the planning looks like.
  • Research and strategy. Target audiences, goals, site structure and the most important pages.
  • Wireframes. The layout of each page, which we go through and refine together.
  • Visual design. The design in Figma, with feedback rounds until it is right.
  • Build. The site in Webflow, including CMS, forms, integrations and measurement.
  • Launch and handover. We put the site live, set up redirects from old pages and show your team how to manage it.

A more detailed description of each step can be found in having a website built: how the process works. After launch you can bring us in for maintenance and security or for new pages and features.

Frequently asked questions about web design in Nijmegen

Do I need to be in Nijmegen to work with you?

No. For clients in and around Nijmegen we are happy to plan sessions on location, but a project works just as well remotely. We discuss designs via a shared screen and collect feedback in one place.

What does web design cost?

That depends on the number of unique pages, the amount of content in the CMS, integrations with other systems and whether the site will be multilingual. After the introduction you receive a tailored proposal. In what does a website cost we explain what the price depends on.

How long does a project take?

That is mainly determined by the size of the site and how quickly content and feedback are available. Copy is often the step that takes longest. That is why we agree at the start who delivers what and when.

Can my website be multilingual?

Yes. Webflow supports multiple languages, with separate URLs per language. How we approach that is described under multilingual website.

What if I need more than a website later?

Then we build further on the same foundation. A client portal, a quoting system or an integration with your CRM connects to the site that is already there. Read more in having a web application built.
